why do you assume crackycat was an indoor cat? do outdoor cats get older than indoor cats?
Indoor cat average life expectancy: 13-17 years
Outdoor cat average life expectancy: 2-5 years
Outdoor and indoor+outdoor cats are very common in the UK so that only increases the probability that the cat is dead. The cat was visibly indoors in photographs but could have been indoor+outdoor which still massively lowers life expectancy.

I have several pictures of Camel's new cat but I'll be mostly hoarding them & maybe handing out just a few privately, no more than one per person, so that if one of them leaks I'll know who the leaker is.
